Hard to believe, but Smash Bros. has been around almost 25 years! The series has come a long way since its beginning two and a half decades ago, and in the time since they've been changes to how fighters are designed as Sakurai and the teams of each game learn more about the process. Which has a side effect of making some of the oldest fighters not age very well, leading to fans wishing for their movesets to be...remade.
This episode, we're taking a look at one such fighter. Donkey Kong has been a part of Smash since the beginning, and lately, that's really started to show. With a moveset almost completely unchanged since Melee, he's had an increasingly tough time standing out next to the roster's other heavyweights and grapplers. But what if he got a retool next game that helped modernize his design with the right combination of completely new moves and updates to his current ones? Let's see what that might look like!
