Although Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has embodied so much of the series' history, there are still some features from past games that didn't make a return. Among them is one from Smash 4 where players could unlock alternate versions of every (pre-DLC) character's specials, allowing their movesets to be customized in ways we hadn't seen before...or haven't since. While their implementation left some to be desired, the concept of custom moves was still interesting enough that it left a lot of people disappointed when the feature didn't return in Ultimate.
But what if, at some point, it did make a return? Let's take a look at a form customs could potentially take in the future, redesigned to truly embody the spirit of the originals while offering more interesting alternates than before AND making them competitively viable! This episode covers a mix of popular and contentious characters, several of whom could benefit from their customs from Smash 4 getting a revamp, and one who never got the chance to have any of their own.
