Well hello there, and welcome to the wonderful world of ballet!
Let's start with some definitions:
🔹 Rises
In ballet, a rise is when you lift your heels off the ground while standing on the balls of your feet. Rises are controlled and require a lot of strength, they are often used in adagios and transition combinations and can be done in different directions and at different tempo.
🔹 Relevé
This term comes from the French word "relever," which means "to rise again. It's a fundamental movement that's used in many ballet steps, including pirouettes and jumps. This is another term for lifting your heels off the ground while standing on the ball of the foot. It always starts with a plie and finishes with a plie and it's typically used to describe a series of quick, small lifts that dancers do while standing on one or two feet.
Now, to get technical, there are three phases to a relevé or a rise:
1️⃣ Demi-plié
This is when you bend your knees slightly while keeping your heels on the ground. It helps you prepare for the lift and gives you a strong foundation.
2️⃣ Relevé
Next, you straighten your legs and lift your heels off the ground. You should feel a stretch in your calves and the muscles in the front of your ankles working hard to hold your weight.
3️⃣ Lowering
Finally, you lower your heels back down to the ground while maintaining control and stability. This phase is just as important as the lift itself, as it helps you develop control and balance.

![Sentences I’m very allergic to…
Sentences I’m allergic to and that you’ll never hear from people that are in my world😉 Here’s
what they say instead 👇
❌I can’t
👉 I can’t yet, and I’m determined to get there
❌It will never happen for me
👉 one step at the time with consistency I will make it happen
❌I will never be able to do that
👉 I’m excited to slowly achieve sometime new
❌It’s too hard
👉 I love a good challenge
❌My body is different, so [insert excuse]
👉 I’m courous to explore how my body can achieve that, I’m sure there are alternatives.
❌My lifestyle is not like yours, so [insert excuse]
👉 I want to work to make my lifestyle exciting and enjoyable every day.
❌You are lucky
👉 with smart and hard work I can do that too!
❌How long is it gonna take?
👉 I will commit to it every day until I get the result I want.
❌I’m too old for that

❌That’s the kind of thing lots of people can’t even hope to achieve
👉 I want to prove myself that anything is possible if I set my mind to it and make a plan to get the result l long for.
The more someone said “you can’”, the more I wanted it and the more I worked to achieve it!
It’s in my nature.
They said:
🤦♀️I would never be able to become a ballerina
🧐I had scoliosis and I would always have injuries,
🙄it was stupid for people to learn ballet at home and that my YouTube channel would never work,
or that I would only dream of what I wanted because…
well…I’m just me!
Who are “they” to define my future, my life, my inner power?
Who are they to make me feel small? To protect their limitations onto me?
It’s in my power to either choose to listen to them or ignore them…
and that’s why I choose me, my intuition and to live my life fully. I have no limits! This is my rule! 😻😘
Ps.
I achieved everything I listed above and more, and now I’m in the next chapter of life where new adventures are coming up! 🤣😘
Yes to life adventures!
And you? What have you ditched from the vocabulary of naysayers? 🤩
Love
