Poem:

The meaning of solitude was not lost on her.
Nonetheless, she was her own best confidant.

And now, with no others to impress,
Her words sounded only for herself.
In this, the loneliness of seclusion was made small.

Here, among the creatures and greenery of nature,
She felt less alone than ever before.

About the song:

It was a particularly beautiful summers day at my home. I walked down the trail and was greeted by the unusually loud sounds of life. All manner of creatures were in full play, it was quite cacophonous. I immediately returned home to fetch my portable recorder. The nature sounds you hear in the background are the sounds from that day.

This music is meant to help you relax, or spark contemplation, or transport you to somewhere else. I love this kind of music and would like to write more. I tried to keep things very minimal, I think perhaps the piano gets a little too involved in the middle of the song, but I thought that fitting in a way.

Things are simple, I wrote and played the piano parts late at night and then spent the next few days adding small details as well as the string parts, synths, bells etc. One fun thing I did was record the sound of the prayer bowl I just bought, and then use it as my sound source for granular synthesis. I don't think I have done granular synthesis before (maybe I did some in snow song, can't recall) and it's pretty interesting.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this. If enough people like it maybe I will make an album of songs representing different places. This is something I have been wanting to do for years.
