Innocent people murdered in broad daylight, picked out at random across Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia in in the notorious and fascinating Washington DC Beltway Sniper case from October 2002.
No motive. No witnesses. No suspects.
The snipers were literally getting away with murder. Everyone looked to the police for answers, but how would they even begin to solve a crime like this? We revist the case using 3D crime scene reconstructions and archive footage.
We look at how serial killers Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen Muhammad evaded police so successfully, leaving thousands of people terrified to leave their homes, go to the store, fill up their cars with gas or take their children to school.
