Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land was a game released for the Nintendo 3DS released on October 29, 2013. It was developed by WayForward Technologies and published by D3 Publisher. The story is that Benson (the park manager who happens to be an anthropomorphic gumball machine) wants Mordecai (the blue jay) and Rigby (the raccoon) to mow the lawn under threat of being fired from their job. Mordecai and Rigby then get a package with a game called "Best Game Ever", and they put it in their game console and get sucked inside the TV. So now, they have to beat the game to escape back into the real world. The game was panned for its claustrophobic and linear level design, its questionable hitboxes, game-breaking bugs and short length. WayForward wanted more time to iron out the game, but D3 demanded that the game be released on time; and so, it was rushed to stores in an incomplete state. What didn't suffer was the music, composed by Jake "Virt" Kaufman; those who played the game unanimously agree that it's the best part of the game. It is speculated that the Namco N163 chip was used for this soundtrack. Unfortunately, unlike Shovel Knight, no NSF file or Famitracker module exists as of this writing; if they don't exist, I can't prove it.
