2018's God of War marked the triumphant return of Kratos, one of gaming's biggest icons, but he wasn't alone, as new character, son Atreus, accompanied him on a new journey in a new land. The combat remained great but a new take on the story catapulted this title into the hearts of many and elevated it to Game of the Year status that year. It didn't quite do the same for me. I played and reviewed the game at release, but put it down soon after. 4 years later, I figured it was a good time to return to the title and see how my opinions had changed and what had stayed the same. So join me as I reflect on 2018's God of War.
