My Sweet Hometown is for anyone who's longing for a place, a person, a feeling, a memory. For this lyric video, I (once again) collaborated with my Secret Song Society members over at Patreon. I asked them for a simple drawing of their "homes" - whatever that might mean for them - and it was heartwarming to see the range of results. Aside from the normal idea of what a home is (a solid structure, a roof over our heads), we had drawings of mountain views, pets, family portraits among others. Some also included handwritten stories about longing for home and holding on to those memories to tide them over.
These past few months have truly tested humanity but no matter who we are or what we're going through, we all have our own "homes" in our minds that we can visit in our own time. Close your eyes, and you're there.
