We captured this very brief video of a female red-tail hawk up on the nesting platform the other day (bird nests constructed on the platform so far = 0; incidents of raccoon tom-foolery recorded = approx. 500 and counting). She landed with her back to us and gave us a beautiful view of the brilliant rust-red feathers in her tail.
After looking out over the dry creek for a few minutes she flew off to find a more fruitful spot to hang out.
