Gil Goodman Red Nail Certification video #2
My first attempt (youtu.be/nw03ypEPxAk) was red-lighted on a technicality because the nails left the video frame at 0:42 when I did a closeup with my backup camera.
Ironmind sent me another batch of obviously different nails (see my face at 1:10) to retry the certification a week later. They were shinier with fresh, still tacky paint on them...and if I had to bend them blindfolded, I would have 100% guessed that they were drill rod. I have heard a few people talk about receiving mutant ~490lb rated nails as opposed to the average 430-440lb range. I suspect that is what these were.

I only got the first two within the 60s time limit. I came back and finished the last one after resting for 5-10 minutes, but both the sweep and crush were uncharacteristically tough for CRS. And to verify that I wasn't having an off day, I rested another 5-10 minutes and bent an 8mm x 180mm 8.8 bolt which was a PR for me.
All in all, I'm happy to complete this cert, even if I had to do it twice.
