On December 6, 2022, recently recalled councilor for the City of East Cleveland Ohio attacked three sitting councilors who are women. Current council president Nathaniel Martin, Mayor Brandon King, and members of the East Cleveland Police department allowed Smith to verbally assault and threaten three women who are elected to the council.
Smith brought community activists to support the shenanigans and the men watched idly by while Smith disrupted the council meeting and accused the women of council for spreading he trafficked underage girls. Eric J, Brewer reported Smith as having a party with underage girls which involved sex, drugs, and alcohol. Smith never confronted or sued Brewer for the story.
Mayor King sat and allowed the recalled politician to disrupt city business and attack women on council. Smith also verbally assaulted resident and former councilor Otis O'Mays (87 year old) who is an elderly resident with intimidation. Current elected Councilor Patricia Blochowiak (71 years old) was viciously assaulted while council president allowed it. Two seniors attacked and council president and the mayor took no action to remove the disrupter.
Smith has been illegally driving city vehicles, damaged them, and used city credit cards in excess of $7k for gas for the vehicles in the last 6 years. Smith did not pay for the damages and his use of the vehicles is a violation of the city charter. Smith has supported the police misconduct openly. Residents recalled Smith for illegal use of vehicles and failed to meet the needs of his wards' residents in the last 6 six years. Smith was illegally appointed 6 years ago by King and was later elected to remain in the seat.
