"It's really good, looking at a new generation solving the mistakes of the old generation," says Wazhma Khurram, 26 year old structural engineer, about the reconstruction of Darul Aman Palace in Kabul.

In ruins after decades of war, the palace is now being rebuilt by a group of Afghan engineers, architects and workers; an ambitious project initiated by the government of Afghanistan in 2016. Wazhma says the project is symbolic for much more than just the palace alone: Namely that what can be ruined, can also be rebuilt.
