Pros & Cons Here are the reasons why some stackers may or may not prefer to stack small bars of gold that weigh less than 3.11 grams or a tenth of an ounce. First, why do they stack small gold bars? Well because they may prefer to stack small bars of gold because they are easier to accumulate in small quantities. Small bars of gold can be purchased incrementally, as funds and opportunity afford, allowing stackers to gradually build their stockpile of gold over time. And not having to spend about $2000 or save $2000 for a full ounce of gold. Its important to note that every stacker has their own preferences and investment goals, and what works for one stacker may not work for another. Some stackers may prefer to collect larger amounts of gold or silver, while others may prefer to collect smaller amounts. Either way Is fine. Another reason that I’m often told is that some stackers like to have their precious metals in small amounts or fractional amounts for barter or trading or just selling gold in bits instead of about $2000 in one shot. Which is about the price for a full ounce of gold. Now why stackers my not stack the small fractional gold bars. One reason could be the higher premium over the spot price of gold for fractional gold bars. The premium is the amount charged by a dealer over the spot price of gold. The premium for fractional gold coins and bar is generally higher than for larger gold coins or bars, which means that the cost per ounce of gold is higher for fractional bars. That is something to consider. And it depends on your goal and situation. Another reason could be the liquidity of fractional gold bars. While fractional gold bars can be easier to sell in small quantities, they may not be as widely recognized or accepted as larger gold coins or bars. This might make it more difficult to sell fractional gold or to get a fair price for them when it comes time to sell. And selling is key, if you can’t sell it why buy it?
