One reason could be the higher premium over the spot price of gold for fractional gold bars. The premium is the amount charged by a dealer over the spot price of gold. The premium for fractional gold coins and bar is generally higher than for larger gold coins or bars, which means that the cost per ounce of gold is higher for fractional bars. That is something to consider. And it depends on your goal and situation. Another reason could be the liquidity of fractional gold bars. While fractional gold bars can be easier to sell in small quantities, they may not be as widely recognized or accepted as larger gold coins or bars. This might make it more difficult to sell fractional gold or to get a fair price for them when it comes time to sell. And selling is key, if you can’t sell it why buy it?
