1964 was the last time the US mint put 90% silver dimes in circulation, all the 1965 dimes and quarters were to be made of copper-nickel, yet one or two quarters and a few dimes were minted with 90% silver. These are super rare. But you might find them in pocket change, yes there might be more chances to be hit by lightning but there is a chance. Look for the solid rim those 1965 dimes are worth thousands of dollars! As I said the 1965 dimes and quarters were supposed to be minted on the copper-nickel clad planchets, but a few were accidentally struck on the 90% silver planchets from 1964. A 1965 silver dime sold for over $4,000! Happy hunting!
