Too many boys and men in our society grow up on the receiving end of messages such as “man up” or “don’t cry.” Over time, this type of conditioning makes it harder for them to express emotions or ask for support.

Learning to talk about feelings is a skill that everyone should have the opportunity to develop. It is the foundation for building connections and understanding.

Thank you to Deaf Counseling Center therapist, Jarom, for spotlighting Men’s Mental Health Month and reminding us that vulnerability and strength can exist together.
