When I thrifted this coverlet, I knew it needed to be a beach coverup! I was deciding between a 2 piece or a long dress...I made the 2 piece but still have enough left over for a dress, which I may do!

For the skirt, I took my hip measurement and added about an inch of ease (this fabric has only a little stretch) plus seam allowances. I sewed one seam and put that in the center back and finished the waist with elastic.

For the top, I literally just cut the shape I thought I wanted using the side seam as the guide for the length. I finished the neck and armholes with light pink bias tape which worked well. If I make a dress I may spend some more time on getting the perfect top shape. But overall, I love how this turned out!

I will most likely wear this with a black bathing suit underneath and be coming right from the beach to have dinner or a drink at a local Chiringuito. It’s still very much summer here in Spain!
