MarkPMus | Read & Write Music! Pt 3 #MarkPMus @MarkPMus | Uploaded 3 years ago | Updated February 06 2023
Ever wanted to make up a tune and write it down for others to play? Or play a piece from sheet music? In this series I'll enable you to go from no knowledge to having the skills at your fingertips!
In today's lesson you will master the first 4 major and minor scales, their key signatures and how to build chords based on the notes in each scale. You will begin to understand how chords can be used to accompany songs. There's a lot in this video, so do play it through a few times to make sure you understand it. As usual it wouldn't be an unprofessional Pearce video without some mistakes, and today, the Apple Pencil and soundtrack were out of sync, so the writing and commentary are not in time. Very sorry!!
This video contains a brief 2-bar extract of U.N.I written by Ed Sheeran & Jake Gosling, Published 2010 Sony/ATV Music, The Movement, BDi Music Ltd. It was used purely for educational purposes to illustrate how an F major chord can be used to accompany a melody. Sorry if any toes have been trodden on here.
