Drinking water distribution systems are a crucial component of urban infrastructure, delivering safe drinking water to support human health, the economy, and the environment. These distribution systems face multiple challenges, such as aging infrastructure, water quality concerns, uncertainty in supply and demand, natural disasters, and cyber and terrorist attacks. The Water Network Tool for Resilience (WNTR) is an open-source Python package designed to quantify the impact of disruptions to water distribution systems, prioritize recovery options, and help make water systems more resilient.
