This video shows the operation of automatic reverse on an RCA LDR-600 LaserDisc Player. The LDR-600 is basically a clone of the Pioneer CLD-2090 except the LDR-600 does not have a shuttle dial on the front of the player.

The mechanism shown is the newer version of the Alpha Turn mechanism.
