Ok, Ok, Ok
One more great Raymond Moody story. I first met Raymond when he was writing one of his books. He wanted to interview me for the book. He came on a Friday and stayed through the next Monday. We talked the entire time. We sat in my living, we walked my property, we rode horses (I lived on a 15 acre small horse ranch at the time) we went to the store.
We talked so much that we would sit in the living room talking, fall asleep, and start talking again when we woke up!
I was on call that weekend. I was called in to resuscitate two critically ill children, both of whom later would tell me their near death experiences. Raymond of course came to the hospital with me. While I was resuscitating the children, he was talking with the nurses and doctors in the Emergency Room, raising their consciousness and teaching them about near death experiences.
Raymond had a profound effect on the Emergency Room of our hospital. For years afterwards, nurses and doctors would come up to me and say how much they had learned from him. One nurse told me that she hadn't believed anything Raymond had said. She was talking about Raymond's visit to another Nurse, in a patient's room. The patient burst into laughter and said "not only did I have the experience you are talking about, I saw you accidentally kick loose the plug on one of the machines you were using to monitor my vitals signs!"
Which of course happened precisely as the patient had described it.
Many times I had to laugh at myself because of Raymond's visit. I would be in the Emergency Room, and a physician would start telling me very earnestly "you know, remember that sometimes patients have out of body experiences when we are resuscitating them. We had a doctor visit us and he explained all of that to us". I would nod my head and say "thanks, I appreciate knowing that".
