Cheeseoman | Rayman 2--Reach Cave of Bad Dreams Platform on First Cycle Consistently @cheeseoman | Uploaded January 2015 | Updated October 2024, 16 hours ago.
In the Cave of Bad Dreams, you can save about 10 seconds by reaching a certain moving platform on the first possible cycle. However, I've never been able to do it consistently until now. The key to the method shown in this video is that the two skull platforms in the room don't start moving until you reach certain trigger zones, and those trigger zones are not the same; the first platform is triggered before the second. The second platform is the one we want to reach on the first cycle. So, the idea is to trigger the first platform, then deliberately slow down a little, then trigger the second platform. When you do this, the second platform's cycle will be delayed a bit, so it's much easier to reach it on the first cycle.
The only drawback is that if you get first cycle by waiting 2 seconds (for example), you're losing 2 seconds compared to a "true" first cycle where you don't wait at all. However, because a true first cycle is fairly uncommon and this method still saves 8 seconds compared to getting second cycle, I think it is well worth using.
