This track was loosely based on the Soviet song "Polyushko-polye" , or "По́люшко-по́ле". You can read the Wikipedia entry here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyushko-polye . We like Nixie tubes, so the lyrics were written with those little tubes of light in mind. Nowadays lots of enthusiasts and hobbyists use these little glass lights to create clocks, thermometers, or even decibel meters! They're a blast from the past, though to some people they illustrate an alternative history much like what the principles of "steampunk" are all about. After all, back in their day, nixie tubes were never used for their original purpose. Their supposedly old-age, Soviet glory and natural beauty make them a perfect project for anyone who wants something special. Although there is some more background to the lyrics, I'll leave it up to your imagination.
