RATS?! IN MY KITCHEN!!!?? 🔪
Happy Raturday my fellow rats. I'mma be honest fam, Rat Race is probably one of my least liked minigames overall, not that I hate it, it's just kinda boring imo, with having to wait and the like...but hey it has cute rats hunting cheese and the music sounds straight outta Saturday morning cartoon (which is really fitting lol). It's got a pretty unique theme.
And after all, even the less good RH minigames are all still really good. Except for that one. You know who YOU are.
This extension was a request by Jose Kamex but I gotta give credits to personita *2.55* too since they gave me the idea for the visuals of the video (the cat switching places with other ones from the series from time to time), so big thank!

Also Kitties' eyes were supposed to move like most of the cats, but it was kinda...unsettling, so ultimately they just stare at your soul for 5 mins :3

This series loves its SPAAAAAAAACE a bit TOO much...
Happy New Year! ...or well, at least it should be over here, this video is programmed. At these times most people like to reflect on the past year, what they did...but I dont feel like it lol, lets sit down and then maybe lets dance...IN SPACE.
Well, some good things DID happen this year. For example, Rhythm Heaven Reanimated, and it started with Space Dance. 2021 will be the 15th anniversary of Rhythm Tengoku so I thought it just felt right to start the new year (or send off the past one, because timezones tm) with this music. Instead of focusing on the bad things, lets just disconnect and relax for today :]
Also some cameos may happen in the video every 3 mins or so. Why 3? WHY 3?!

Thats...gotta be one of the longest titles Ive had to type out.
I didnt know about the soundtrack of this game til I received the request to extend this...I regret it, its amazing. It comes from one of the composers of Shovel Knight, the Shantae series or DuckTales Remastered so that kinda explains it lel.

Ah~ Detective Pikachu, I have yet to play it but it seems like a pretty underrated Pokémon game, even the music can be difficult to find on YT. This themes pretty catchy imo, it sounds really classy, the only downside is that its a bit in the short side since its an introduction, but I love it.

Decided to redo this loop to celebrate its inclusion in Smash Ultimate and because the old one I did (actually one of my first videos, from 2015) kinda sucked, the loop felt weird.
Pretty sure that in Smash it will loop different because they usually end and start from the beginning again like Blue Birds, but I was too hyped for Ultimate to wait c: .

The first (and so far only) actual reward for 100%ing a game other than oh lol you actually did it, congrats I guess, and one I put a lot of hours into when I finally got it, this song felt like a triumph one celebrating that I finally got that *damn* Remix 10 lel. It does sound a bit creepy and mysterious, especially the intro and the constant cowbell, but I think it fits considering its like a super secret reward that not many people will actually listen to ingame. No wonder they kind of reused the melody in Songbird lel, cant blame em.

The difference isnt that big obviosuly, but I thought itd be neat to make an extension out of it just because I love the song so much. That and it gave me the opportunity to throw in all the Try Again screens of Megamix together, so I guess this is also a bit of a All Rhythm Heaven Megamixs Try Agains + music (?). As I commented in my community post some hours ago, it seems that BrawlBRSTMS3s channel has been sadly terminated, I realized when I got this suggestion and went to check out their Tengoku extensions. As a way to honor the channel I decided to extend again this song and tried to emulate the same loop.
Im gonna miss that channel a lot, it was such a big library of VGM extensions and an influence to me and now all is sadly lost...
Moving to the music, I wasnt unsure if I should call the title just Karate Man or Karateka, since technically the song¡s from Tengoku. But since this minigame never had an official name outside of Japan until Megamix, I decided to go with that name.
As an unfun fact, I always found interesting that according to the official CD, this song, possibly one of the most iconic ones from the series, wasnt actually composed by Tsunku, but Masami Yone, the only other composer in Tengoku and the man who eventually became the director o Megamix.

Also Vegeta Pull if you feel nostalgic for the English fan translation or Rhythm Epilation if youre feeling Japanese today.
Shaving vegetables with human faces to the rhythm was never this satisfying, definitively a better experience that shaving lightbulbs with human faces. I always found interesting that these onions went to become one of the faces of the series; getting their own plushes, making cameos in all the games of the series as well as WarioWare...but Ill give them that this is a game that indeeds lets a strong impression in you, so it makes sense. ~~And in the case of the GBA sequel, a VERY strong one with that last pattern.~~
Also in some alternate universe they actually used human faces instead of vegetables...so thats cool and not creepy at all.
