This song is ethereally smooth--Rat & Co’s latest offering “Samurai” cuts through your musical sensibilities like a hot samurai through butter. If anything, this song is a testament to the saying that goes ‘less is more’--at least vocally. The faintest ooohs and aahs in this enthralling number didn’t in any way undermine its carefully crafted melodies.

“Samurai” is percussive, hauntingly melodic and remarkably fluid. Just the kind of product you’d expect from this four-piece band wonder from the land down under. Why? Because they’ve done this before. If you think this is amazing, listen to their debut album ‘One (壱) Uno (壹) Ein’ and you’ll understand why I’ve got such high expectations for them.

All I’m saying is that up to this point, this band has been consistently amazing and “Samurai” continues that trend.
