If there’s any artist out there that can create a poignant song about obsession and lust, it has got to be FMLYBND. They are as atmospheric as it can get but perceptive enough to deal with such powerful subject matter.
With “Air”, the band perfectly conveys the perplexing feeling of helplessness, anxiety and euphoria that come with obsession and lust. If ever those emotions would create a sound, I think it would sound exactly like this track. It’s dreamy and claustrophobic at the same time. I don’t know how they achieve that but this song makes me feel those things and then some.
“Air” by FMLYBND is so powerful and relatable that it makes it harder to breath once you really delve into it—but in a good way. In other words, this song is obsessive and I’m obsessed with it.
