If you’re looking the right camera then you have a few things you will need to consider before you buy. Firstly what do you plan on using it for? A security camera, birder watcher, photography, streaming and possibilities are endless.

If you plan on using it where light will be limited then the NOIR will be the best choice as this works so much better when in low light or even no light if you use an IR illuminator. If you use an IR illuminator then you will actually get Raspberry Pi night vision which is actually pretty cool!

On the flipside if you plan on doing taking photos or video where light will in abundance then the normal Raspberry Pi camera board is the perfect choice.

You could even go a little more creative and do a switch that will use the normal camera doing the day and the NOIR at night this way you get the best of both worlds.

I hope this guide has helped you decide on which camera best suits what you will need for your upcoming Raspberry Pi project.
