Well, this is unpleasant (the soundfont, not the MIDI song). The instruments' samples are too loud and shrill, to the point of audibly clipping.
Reducing the soundfont's volume in CoolSoft VirtualMIDISynth does not help much, as distortion/artifacts are present in the samples themselves (CoolSoft's volume was set to 100% for this video, to make it a fair comparison with the other soundfont recordings of this same track. The internal sample clipping is still noticeable even at 50% volume, particularly on the Charang).
Now, I am really not trying to attack this soundfont or its creators. I am simply trying to give fair and honest feedback on how this soundfont sounds in CoolSoft VirtualMIDISynth, especially since this is one of the only ones I've tried that has all the issues mentioned above.
Edit: I have uploaded a recording with CoolSoft's soundfont volume set to 20% (the distortion is still there, but it's a little easier on the ears): youtu.be/_7QQ-et4Bvc
