AlboPepper - Drought Proof Urban Gardening | Raised Bed Garden -Grandpa's First Season! @Albopepper | Uploaded August 2015 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Last year we upgraded my Grandpa's in-ground farming plot to a new location. It currently consists of two raised beds. They are doing extremely well (much better than my Grandparents expected).

I believe this gardening technique can really help the elderly or handicapped. Seniors, who may have bad knees or difficulty bending over will find this method for growing food to be much more manageable

This is no-till Gardening and so no rototiller is required. Also the beds thaw faster in the Spring. That means you can get your planting started even sooner than before. Weeds are greatly reduced. Drainage is significantly improved. And this method offers a lot in way of sustainability.
