Ken Smith started work at Wennington station in 1947, the year the railways were nationalised. He worked as a Junior Porter.
Ken has shared his memories as part of Green Ayre Rises, a special event to mark 50 years since the closure of Lancaster Green Ayre and the line between Green Ayre and Wennington.
