A nice looking radio with lousy audio quality. I forgot to mention that the microcontroller is slow to update the display and respond to input, especially the volume control.
The whine has nothing to do with my video camera. It happens all the time, no matter where the radio is situated. The odd "phase shifting" behavior of the audio when seek tuning comes to a stop on the AM band is likely nothing more than a peculiarity of the circuit design. Maybe you can't even hear it in the video, but I could. No mention of analog AM stereo reception capability is made in the owner's manual.
Perhaps I'll test it and find out for sure at some point.
