Carbon 14 is a common method of radiometric dating to determine the age of organic material. In this episode we look at the method, with a number of examples, using both a slide rule and a calculator.

Note, one criticism from the science denial community has been that we 'don't know' if C14 has been 'at the same level' for thousands of years. Well it hasn't, but that isn't a problem. Here is an excellent article on how we calibrate carbon dating to account for the variations...
