This could be an anomaly from Chornobyl, as in the video game Stalker, but it is just a regular thorite mineral.

Still, it throws a nice show when it is placed in a cloud chamber.

I actually added a small upgrade to my chamber that I have been planning to do for a very long time. I disassembled an electrical mosquito swatter and repurposed it into an electric grid that creates a high-voltage electrical field across the chamber. This improves the "brightness" of the traces created by radioactive particles.

These particles, by the way, are not only emitted by that tiny thorite piece, but they are also coming from the natural background radiation and from space (cosmic rays).
