Ronniejay's death on the racetrack was so brutal that Racing Victoria edited it out of the replay. He took a sudden sharp turn into the rail, crashed over it and dropped dead.

Ronniejay was trained by Richard Laming - the man who recently had stomach tubing charges dismissed on a technicality after Racing Victoria bungled his case. Laming has also previously been found guilty of presenting a horse with cobalt in their system.
