I wanted to create an assyrian style quiver fir my Assyrian bows.
The internet research has shown a few photos of stone carvings and a tile wall. Furthermore, I found a sketch.
The photo of the tile wall shows intense colors, as they have been used in the antique.
For decoration I found photos of two bone or ivory carvings of a winged ram. The ram seemed to be a popular animal for the assyrian people ☺️
I‘m not 100% sure, that the ram carvings are assyrian, but at least the photo description said so...
Usually the assyrian archers used to wear their quivers as back quivers, but some have been carried by helpers (most likely slaves).
Personally I prefer wearing the quiver at the hips, so I prepared my quiver for both use cases, but didn’t create a shoulder strap (because I won’t use it anyway 🤪).
