Another way of using Ken Perlin's Quikwrite text entry method in VR. An analog thumbstick, in this case the one on a Wiimote Nunchuck extension controller, is mapped to a virtual input device moving inside a square. To that virtual input device is bound a regular Quikwrite tool, so that the thumbstick directly controls movement between Quikwrite regions, and therefore character selection.
The normal Quikwrite tool was modified to visualize the region selection process; the selected major region is drawn in red, and the minor region is drawn in blue.
