As our season changes once again, and the autumn equinox is here, I hope you enjoy my poem, as we say thank you, and farewell to the Green Man and welcome the colours of autumn:)

Quietude
Slumber well my noble forest king
May your emerald crown turn golden
With the blessings your harvest brings
Be proud of the joys you have bestowed upon us
Ripe berries, juicy apples, the corn and the wheat
You need no more thanks other than to hear
The fading bird song, and scuttles of the deer
As they feast well in the chill of the equinox air
Be still in harmony with the woodland you are caretaker for
Let the winter snows fall deep and ease you into a dreamy rest
As nature waits for the winds of change
And you wake for the rebirth of your spring
