This is a Quick Look at the 9.Solutions Magnetic Quick Mount system and how it solves one of the key problems with almost every other mounting system out there- the 1/4-20 thread and how it slips.
By using mounts with rosettes, that lock together, the mount from the pole or clamp, to whatever gear you are holding, cannot rotate or twist accidentally because of the way they lock together. The magnetic aspect makes it easy to drop the pieces into place, but I find that the more important aspect is not the magnets, but the rosettes. Even if you took the magnets away, this would still be an essential bit of kit for setups that need mounts that won't get knocked out of place.
