It turns out that painting's like a lot of skills - if you don't use it, it rusts a little! The methods are still all totally valid, though I discovered after a month (actually closer to five weeks) of not having painted anything, I found certain colours moving off my brush differently to how I remembered, having to get fresh paint after having added too much water to a mix, and so forth. So if you're wondering whether or not practice is really all it's cracked up to be, heck yeah, it is! Keep your eye in!

VARNISH:
Colour Forge Matt Varnish Spray

THE BASE: Layer of PVA followed by sand, painted first with Vallejo Brown Sand, then heavily drybrushed with Vallejo Stone Grey with a little touch of Vallejo Pale Green Grey on the larger clumps of texture. Tiny dots of PVA and static grass to add texture.
