I have been using @Mecabricks for @LEGO animation due to its amazing @BlenderOfficial import feature. I wanted to be able to do simple face animations, but wasn’t finding an easy way. There is what appears to be an amazing add-in to Blender called “MecaFace”, but I didn’t want to dive that deep. Fortunately, I found a video (linked below) that showed generally how to animate textures using Nodes, and I was able to adapt it to the models that are imported using the Mecabricks Blender Importer. I hope someone finds it useful!
This technique allows you to easily use keyframes in the animation timeline to change the face on your Minifig characters. These face textures will follow the character, even if it is moving around using a rig such as the EpicFigRig (youtube.com/watch?v=o_t1rhiuQj4)
