QUICK HIT: A classic Lego noir vid demonstrating for DIYnamics Lego V Spike Kit afficiandos how to use the Spike in “auto-mode”, in which the Spike Hub automatically identifies any motors/sensors plugged into its ports.

In the simplest use case, just plug in the Lego motor into any of the six ports on the Lego Spike Hub. Turn on the Hub by pressing the Big Round Button (BRB). Then press the BRB for a second time. That tells the hub to check all its ports. It auto-detects the motor that is plugged in. This auto-detect mode then makes it possible to set the speed and direction of the motor via the wing buttons on either side of the BRB. —So that is that. Rotation control sans programming; super quick, super easy.

Note that the Build Series focusses on the version of the 2025 kit that does not make use of Lego Spike. aka, there is no Spike auto-mode discussed there. Still the kits structural make-up is the same (Parts 1, 2, and 3).
