Video of fluid flows on the "lab planet" at the Royal Observatory of Belgium. In this example, the rotation rate is slightly decreased, and after a few seconds into the video, beautiful "shear" patterns emerge along the planet's "equator" (i.e. it's widest part in the video, as if the north pole were the top and the south pole was the bottom touching the platform).
The fluid inside of the lab planet is "Barbasoloscope", which you can learn how to make by following along our other video here: youtu.be/f9K3FEJkBrs.
