Today I am sharing a vlog of our vacation to one of the Gulf Islands in August 2023... we had a wonderful relaxing trip that involved checking out the local bookstore and visiting a museum about what life was like on Pender Island at the turn of the century when it was the site of a Victorian seaside resort. Shoutout to my husband and sister for capturing a lot of the footage!
This little video clip is from a library visit last year... I had brought my husband along with me to take a few pictures and videos for booktube content and then was browsing the stacks for a while afterwards picking out some books to borrow. I thought he was just patiently waiting around for me to be ready to go, but when we got home and he transfererred over the pictures to my phone, this surprise video clip was mixed in of him searching the shelves for a book with a sweet sentiment in the title.

This year the book I chose as my Advent devotional is “Beholding Beauty: Mary and the Song of Songs” by Fr. Gregory Cleveland, OMV. I could only find the ebook version available in Canada so with Book Depository closed, I made my first order from Blackwells (and I’m sure won’t be my last). I love the medieval-esque logo on the envelope! ✨ So far I’m a chapter and a half into the book and thoroughly enjoying it so far… it is making me consider Song of Songs, a fairly opaque book of the Bible, in a new light. If you have any special books chosen for Advent I would love to know what you are reading! ✨
