But Panasonic's DVCPRO-HD machines supported the same resolution and could take the same size tape. As JVC and Panasonic were closely related at the time, just maybe the Panasonic will play the rare JVC format. Let's try it.JVC invented a rare and little known professional video cassette format. HDV 720P ProHD.video99.co.uk2024-07-19 | The miniDV and DV cassette format was sometimes also used for high definition. Sony created reasonably popular HDV equipment utilising 1080i or 1080p resolutions. But JVC had to do things their own sweet way, and made a few cameras and even fewer video recorders which recorded in the 720p resolution. Interoperability between the JVC and Sony formats was almost non-existent, making it very hard to recover JVC 720p recordings properly today. We look at a JVC GY-HD201 broadcast camcorder and a matching JVC BR-HD50 "ProHD" video recorder. We will try to repair both units. We will also look at the interoperability issue that comes about when attempting to digitise tapes of this rare format.

Hirose plugs and sockets.video99.co.uk2024-06-14 | Professional U-matic video equipment gives vastly better performance when connected to a Digital Timebase Corrector with the proper Dub cables. But here in the UK, it seems to be impossible to buy either the cables or even the Hirose RM12BPE-7S(71) type socket connectors to make them up. The RM12BPE-7PH(71) plug however is still obtainable, and the chassis mount sockets are just about obtainable, or could be scrapped from old machines. So could we make the required super-rare connector by swapping parts over with what we can still obtain? It wouldn't be easy.
I am absolutely not offering to make these up, but you could get some good pointers on how to do it yourself. More information has come to light about pins 3 and 4. They could potentially carry and R-Y signal and the ground side is Pin 4.

A seriously expensive bit of kit. But the service manual is very limited. Can we try going to component level repair way beyond the service manual's intentions? The journey may be more interesting than the destination.

Visible / thermal blending can really help in many applications. With good specifications, a removable battery, variable mix of visible and optical both on camera and in software, this looks promising. We test it on electronic, automotive, soldering, hot and cold samples. We also compare some of the captured images directly with those from a competing Topdon model.

Below are a list of possible improvements, some of which may be implemented in updates by Kaiweets. FIRMWARE: 1: OVER needs to say UNDER when off the bottom of the range. This could potentially be a safety issue so it's really important. 2: The red text for the hottest point is very hard to see and needs to be changed a little to make it more visible. 3: When using the menus, the ENTER button has to be pressed to go into a menu selection, but the RIGHT ARROW should also function to select a menu item. (Also, to back up out of a menu, the LEFT ARROW should work as well as the back up button. 4: Going into the temperature range selection needs to be promoted to a higher level function, not buried in the settings menu. 5: The unit is difficult to use when trying to measure something around 120C because it keeps displaying OVER. There needs to be an overlap between the two ranges, or even a third middle range added. 6: Consider adding alarms and make that audible. Also if it could trigger an alarm on a connected PC, that could be very useful in industrial applications. PC SOFTWARE: 1: It should be possible to re-align optical and thermal images in the software, in case the alignment was not set properly during the image capture.
As regards HARDWARE, I would suggest the following updates on a future model: 1: Add tripod mount, or even two to also allow sideways mounting. 2: Add a switch to detect the cover is down and signal this on the display. 3: Try to get the optical and thermal lenses closer together to reduce alignment problems, especially when having to work with nearby objects which are moving around. 4: Add a small finger grip to the bottom of the cover so it is easier to find and open when required.
