"Eternal Gloom:..." is Putrid Evocation latest conjuration, a 25 minute long occult journey through life and death.
As I've stated before in many other videos, the current metal scene in Santiago, Chile is easily one of my favorites. In the last couple of years, that scene alone spat out the best of the best releases in recent memory - thats exactly where Putrid Evocation are from and they don't fall behind.
For this EP, they took upon the teachings of Incantation and Finland's Convulse, merged them together, and added that uniquely Chilean touch that no one else could replicate (and accompanied by a sick ass, almost abstract, cover art)
Another sick release for your top 10's for this year, and if you disagree you are wrong.

05:18 - Spreading the Impure Seed of Antichrist Ejaculation Upon your Dismal Skeleton (Interlude)

17:26 - Surrounded by Emaning Black Mist from the Depths of a Derelict Grave (Interlude)

![Dementia - World of Hate [Full Demo - 1994]
If youre feeling like giving a chance to releases with terrible album covers, give it to World of Hate by the French death metallers Dementia. That artwork is really atrocious but the music is Great!
I unironically mustve downloaded this accidentally in a forum, because I wouldnt touch anything with that artwork unless someone personally told me it was good, and one day decided to give a spin - eh, why not? I thought... - and its really good! Nothing groundbreaking, but stupid beefy and very very grounded death metal. I hear some Massacra in there!
Dementia really werent good at picking artworks for their music. The cover for the debut album, In Core of the Dark Ages, is just atrocious, even worse than this imo. However, their second album Answer has a great cover art to compensate (and its NOT because it has boobs, I just like the artstyle) :)

![Manticore - Burrowers [Full Demo - 1994]
Manticore were an Australian death metal band and were active from 1992 to late 1999. In their runtime, the band released 2 demos, this one being the 2nd one, and 2 LPs.
Burrowers is the definition of short and sweet. They encapsulated a shit ton of raw cruelty and bararity in a 9 minute long demo. The tempo doesnt go lower than a moderately fast mid-tempo, anything else is fast and relentless. Deep growls and low tuned guitars accompanied by an extremly fitting and tight druming are to be found. That closing Slayer cover is also excellent, I absolutely love it.

![Scald - Born With Teeth [Full EP - 1997]
Scald are an Irish extreme metal band. I dont use the umbrella term extreme metal very often, but since Scald have played around within the genres of death, doom, sludge, industrial, drone and grindcore, I think its fitting this time. Since their formation in 1993, Scald almost always remained active, having only a brief break between 2017 and 2020.
This EP, the bands second release, is an interesting mix of death metal with sludgy and industrial influences. Rarely do they play straight forward riffs, theres always a break, a switch up or some other quirky thing. To me it really represents well that H.R. Giger style artwork.
Maybe not an EP for everyone, but if youre into unorthodox styles of metal you should definitely check this out.

![Fifth Dominion - Pain, Rage & Laughter [Full Demo - 1993]
Fifth Dominion were an Irish technical death metal band. They formed from the ashes of Misanthropy, which you might know from their Bruised Opinion demo (super cool, you should check it out!). Active from 1992 to 1994, the band recorded 3 demos, Pain, Rage & Laughter being their 2nd release.
If youre familiar with Misanthropy, I think you would agree that Fifth Dominions music could be described as Misanthropy but more chaotic. They take what they did on Bruised Opinion and add some guitar wankery every riff and a half. It still have a bunch of straight forward moments, but now theres a bunch of technical breaks and a heavy use of synths for atmosphere.
After disbanding in 1994, some members took the bands name and made it THE Fifth Dominion and recorded a single death doom demo.

![Sudden Fear - Pursuit of Truth [Full Demo - 1993]
Sudden Fear were an American thrash metal band. Formed in 91, they released 2 demos, this one and a self-titled in 96, disbanding in 99.
Their style is on the more aggressive end of the thrash spectrum, with kind of late 80s Hetfield vocals and blood pumping riffs, some of them akin to very early stages of death metal, when it was starting to separate itself from thrash - Pursuit of Truth is still very much just thrash metal though.

00:00 - Potential Ruin
04:36 - Loss of Reason
08:32 - Corrupt Before the Time
13:18 - Final Stage of Evolution
17:58 - Radical Mutation

![Overthrow - Overthrow [Full Demo - 1994]
Overthrow were a death metal band from Argentina. They formed in 1991 and released 3 demos and 2 splits throughout the 90s.
This self titled demo is 1/3rd intros and 2/3rds actualy music, but if you can get through that youll find some pretty cool mostly mid tempo down tuned death metal. The length is pretty ideal, doesnt overstay its welcome nor has chance to try to do so much it fucks everything up. The vocals are low as fuck with some wraith-like higher bits (but never high screeches), the drums and guitars are always in good sync, beefy and, even if they dont do anything new, on point with the delivery. I think Ill have to look for Overthrows other demos!

![Beyond Belief - Stranded [Full Demo - 1992]
Beyond Belief were a Dutch death/doom metal band, and a classic one at that too! Im a fan of their debut album, Towards the Diabolical Experiment, and I was very surprised to see they still dont have their full discography up on youtube. They formed in 1986 but, due to members being in and out the band all the time, disagreements and whatnot, they didnt record anything until 1991. This demo youre listening to right now is their second one.
Slow is the word here! Just slow and doomy all the way through the demo. It creates a nice obscure atmosphere, truly cemetery music. The production is really nice for a demo too, damn. Its really clean and polished (but not squeaky clean, of course, theres still the grit and much we all love around here). The vocals also have some effects layered, which I personally like a bunch, dude sounds like cookie monster now.

![Xymonthra - Demo 94 [Full Demo - 1994]
Xymonthra were a Swedish technical death metal band. Formed in 1991, they released 3 demos under Xymonthra, this one being possibly their last before they changed name to Macrocosmic Emotions in 1994.
There isnt much to say about this demo if you ask me. Althought I wasnt able to track down any artwork for the video (the logo you see was taken from their previous demo), the quality isnt as shitty as I would expect from something in this situation. Its not super techy like tech death would become in the late 90s, really shows how a genre can progress. Essentially, this is death metal with some technical/unusual riffs here and there, not as straight foward as the average release from back in the day.

00:00 - Beyond Erroneous Thoughts
02:53 - Observe Every Counterfeit Considerateness

![Dehuman - Promo 9900 [Full Demo - 2000]
Dehuman were an Australian brutal death metal band. Active from 1995 to 2001, they released 2 demos, one in 1996 and this one in 2000. Later on, these were compiled and released as the Return of the Lifeless compilation, in 2019.
Honestly, theres not much to say about this band - its your average late 90s broots, hits the right spots and for 40 mins of runtime its not a complete chore to get through. Maybe its just for die hard fans of the genre since it really doesnt bring anything new to the table. But hey, if I didnt like it I wouldnt have uploaded it!

![Decay - Ceremonial Torture [Full Demo - 1992]
Decay were a Greek death metal band, formed in 1991... and thats about all the information thats out there about this band. They released this single track in 1992 and apparently nothing else. This video is a contender to the shortest full demo Ive ever uploaded (I think it wins tbh).
About the music, there is only so much that can be said about a single track. Slower paced death metal with some death/doom influences, probably Cianide or Mythic (although its unlikely since they were overseas, idk if their 1992 releases would reach Greece within a year). Many guitar screeches and big sounding music towards the end.

![Nigromancia - Hidden Rituals [Full EP - 2021]
Hidden Rituals is Nigromancias debut conjuration, a 25min long mad thrashing death piece straight out of Chile.
After I uploaded both Morbid Cruetly and Putrid Evocation, Burning Coffin Recs showed me this band that I absolutely overlooked when their EP came out. Chilean death metal never disappoints, and Nigromancia captures that unmistakably south american feeling. The songs are concise and straight to the point, no bull shit all riffs. The unmatched aggression of Chilean metal reeks from this one. The only slow moments that you find in their music are there to build up the crushing riff barrages that come right afterwards.
Dont do it like me, dont sleep on this band, they might just have some AOTY material on hold....
