Jo Ann Castle was a honky-tonk pianist on the "Lawrence Welk Show" for about ten years, between 1959-1969. While honky-tonk pianists aren't always viewed in a positive light by us ragtimers, some of their playing can benefit even the highest Joplin fan. This recording of Percy Wenrich's 1909 Tin Pan Alley rag-song hit "Put On Your Old Grey Bonnet" by Jo Ann is a good example of that. They do add a bit of an Easter twist to it, as it was the Easter show.
