It's 8AM and my project crashed again
When I first heard this song I played it on repeat probably too much but it's catchy as hell and I immediately wanted to do a cover so. uh. I did :)
I'm not sure whether to like or hate the video I made for this. It's more ambitious than anything I've ever really done, and it was really just copying the original video, but I don't usually put this much effort into videos. But I really think I bit off more than I could chew. I had to render it like 10 times so it's staying how it is at this point. The main thing I got out of making a video for this is that I can't use Shotcut anymore because it sucks.

Well. Um. This has been a journey. I think I had this done about 3 months ago? Except I didnt like it, so I ignored it and uploaded other stuff. And then I came back like a month later like okay this isnt *as* bad as I thought and tweaked it a little bit and then just kept. Coming back every week or so for another month to see if I still hated it. And then today I was like fuck it, Im uploading this. After I tweak it a tiny bit more and now were here.
friend is a really big inspiration for me, both in terms of video editing and music production. Even though the music I make doesnt really sound like theirs at all. I tried to emulate their PV editing style a bit here, but. I just did a commission and Erasure and Im a little burnt out lmao.
Also thank you, friend, for the official midi because I could not fucking figure out the chord progression in the chorus. I dont even think I used the same one in the arrange if Im being real

This is my video for Round 2 of UTAU Showdown! Im glad to have made it :D The one thing Im sad about is that I ended up realizing while I was tuning the harms for this that I really liked Yume Shiawasenas lower range but I didnt use it a lot in this cover. I may have bitten off more than I could chew by trying to engrish a bunch of 16th notes, but by the time I was done with the first chorus I had gotten Too Invested to stop.

Edit: Please stop asking for a full version. Im glad people like this enough to want more, but between using Hakupo for English and making vocal chops, I would probably throw my laptop at the wall.
By short I mean I cut out the second verse and chorus. Normally Im not that lazy, but I combined all his voicebanks except Chu and they all had different preutterance settings, which made the things I usually do hard.

This song started as me trying to make a Kairiki Bear-esque song to see how my friend reacted/try to imitate his lyric style. I have a lot of respect for the way he writes his lyrics. While Im nowhere near his level imo, I hope to keep improving and make more music thats my own.
