Public Health Gibraltar says the risk of West Nile virus in Gibraltar remains low despite 16 cases having been reported so far this year in Andalucia.
Health officials there have been no human cases of the virus in Gibraltar and it has not been detected in locally trapped mosquitoes.
Meanwhile, Public Health and the Environmental Agency are launching a larvicidal treatment programme to tackle areas where mosquitoes breed, such as storm drains.
