Interview with Mr Komodjojo, Chief Marketing Officer, regarding PT PAL Indonesia cooperation with Naval Group for submarines and frigates. The interview was recorded during Indodefence 2025.

On March 28th 2024, Indonesia chose Naval Group and PT PAL to strengthen the capabilities of the Indonesian Navy with two Scorpène Evolved Full Lithium-Ion battery (LiB) submarines to be built in Indonesia in PT PAL shipyard, through a transfer of technology from Naval Group.
PT PAL upgraded its shipyard in Surabaya with a newly built ship lift and transfer system. PT PAL stated that the system will be 100 metres long and have a lifting capacity of 6,000 tonnes. It will be used for the production as well as maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of the Scorpene Evolved submarines.
During Indodefence 2025, PT PAL and Naval Group inked a MoU for cooperation and transfer of technology for two additional submarines and one FDI frigate should Indonesia decide to order these.
