This is Pt.2 to my second visit to Power Park Fitness in Spring Branch, Texas. Perfect place to practice for upcoming Spartans...
I've not cut any of my fails or blunders....This is me, flaws and all... Enjoy...
If you're here, you know I've been on a journey to be healthy again. In May, my son invited me to do a Spartan race with him. That was on a Friday. The race was the next day. It was only a 5k Sprint, and while I did cross the finish line.... it was clear sign of how out of shape I'd become. Of the 20 obstacles, I think I only completed 5 or 6. Oh, let me add that it was 100+ during our race....
With that said.... I'm a gluten for punishment. the next day, I signed up for the 10k Super in Dallas this October and the 21k Beast in San Antonio this November.
I'm down nearly 20lbs since that race, and I meet be up with my trainer three days a week, in addition to going to the gym 5 days a week.
Power Park Fitness was recommended to me in an OCR(Obstacle Course Racing) group I joined. I wanted a way to practice for the obstacles in the Spartans, and gage just how bad I am and need to focus on... Basically, upper body, core, and grip strength...
PPF is an outdoor OCR and indoor ninja course training park. Working out in the gym is nowhere the same as performing outdoors. So, if you're interested in my journey, enjoy the ride... Ignore my BAD singing, being out of breath, the NEAR fall FLAT ON MY FACE.... Oh, and the debacle in the tunnel.. Which is Pretty FUNNY.......
there are two parts. My next visit will be longer once I find the trail to upper course... feel free to fast forward. also, I'll need to figure out the camera settings as this video doesn't seem to show the change in elevation very well.....
